Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Insemination IUI treatment is an assisted reproductive technique by which washed and processed sperm will be inseminated into the uterine cavity at the time of ovulation. The IUI increases the chances of getting pregnant in infertile couples. IUI is a widely used option because it is a minimally invasive, lower-cost alternative to in vitro fertilization (IVF), and it can be conveniently performed in our clinic.
When Should One Go for IUI Treatment?
It is the most preferred and common form of artificial insemination and is recommended by doctors as an initial form of IUI for infertility. A couple may opt for IUI or Intrauterine Insemination in all the cases given below.

- Marginal decline in male fertility
- Unexplained infertility
After primary consumption with our fertility experts, the process begins with stimulating the ovaries. In this step, follicles are thoroughly scanned, wherein the female partner takes prescribed fertility medicines. Our fertility expert monitors the development of the follicles in the ovary with the help of an ultrasound. Then, based on the growth of the follicles, An HCG injection is given to her to make the ovulation process healthier.
During the stimulation of the ovaries, our fertility expert keeps track of the ovulation of the female partner and when she enters the most fertile window during her menstrual cycle.
A sperm sample is collected from the male partner on insemination day. The sperm collection sample is then processed, and the healthiest sperm is selected.
After sperm collection, the process of semen washing starts. In this, individual sperms are separated from the semen.
As mentioned above, the sperm and the nutritive media are injected into the uterus, which helps reduce the distance traveled by the sperm. The procedure may be repeated for the next few days to increase the chances of pregnancy.
IUI Procedure Pregnancy
After the IUI insemination procedure is completed, our fertility expert might sometimes prescribe medicines to increase the chances of pregnancy. In addition, pregnancy tests are conducted within a specific period to check whether the female partner is pregnant or not.
